Biography

​

Benji is a freelance photographer and writer, originally from Cork, and moved to Waterford in 2023. He graduated from University College Cork with a BA in Film and Screen Media in 2020. Since then, he has been continuously working on both feature and short scripts, as well as managing both photography and social media work.

His films centre around LGBTQ+ experiences and lives, especially those of the trans community. Benji works tirelessly in order to create the stories that he needed growing up, to give the next generation of LGBTQ+ youth the hope and representation that his generation never got. His 2018 documentary, Transparency, screened at Pride of the Déise's Queer Vision in 2021, and his award-winning 2020 thesis film, Lost Boys, has been screened at several festivals around the world.

Benji is currently working on two short films, hoping to move them into production within the next year.
