Alicia Gerrard

Alicia Gerrard is an actor and educator based in Waterford. She recently played Paige in a short film called Driving Me Crazy by Fillipe Lezo in Waterford. She also voiced Poppy in local director Luke Corcoran’s feature film Poppy Loftus in 2022.

Since moving here from Wexford, she has focused on running a creative arts school, teaching teenagers filmmaking. In Ireland, she’s had recurring roles in BBC’s Ripper Street, Vikings, and Apple TV’s Sci-Fi series Foundation. She also played Lucy in Steven McKenna’s feature film Dreamtown, currently in film festivals. Internationally, she starred as Ciara in Half Brothers directed by Christoph Lehmann in Switzerland back in 2016.

Her favourite thing about the film industry is the collaborative nature that brings together diverse talents to create compelling stories. She loves the dynamic process of filmmaking, where every individual can play to their strengths. For her, the energy and creativity during production are truly inspiring, and she finds great fulfillment in being part of a team that challenges each other to bring stories to life.

She’s thrilled to be a member of the Waterford Film Centre and has already benefited from our excellent equipment hire service for her upcoming film camp. In her own words “WFC is instrumental in putting Waterford on the map for international productions and supporting local industry professionals”.
